TOTALLY AWESOME!

Hmm. I’ve told you that me and my classmates were planning to go somewhere this holiday. And our decision goes to Beras Basah. An island located miles away from Bontang. We had no choice but rent a boat. Fortunately, our friend from IPA 3 owns the boat, so we got some discount from him.

Other people from IPA 3 would like to join, who are dina and the gang. So at Friday night, we were all gathered in my house, planned this trip precisely. Three quarter of my class agreed to come to Beras Basah, but IPA 5 was about 10 to 12 people. Smaller amount…

So, the dealt were: Saturday morning, 9 am at mitha’s house, Rp.10.000,-/person, and so on. The rest of us were agreed with the dealt. We went home and got some sleep.

In the morning, IPA 3 couldn’t come join with us. It would sucks if IPA 5 had a cancellation too, because most of us had already prepared with the stuffs. So, IPA 3 didn’t go. It was just IPA 5 went to Beras Basah with the boat.

We rode a motorcycle to the Guntung, a place where the boat berth at port. Luki, a person from IPA 3, said the boat has the capacity of 50 people. But it was NOT that big in reality. It was no space left without IPA 3!

So, the boat’s machine started to roar. It was such a NOISE!! We couldn’t speak each other because of that stupid noise. But we were too happy that time, so we didn’t matter of that noise. We left the port at 10 am.
We loved the scenery of the mangrove trees. That scenery looked more like Amazon in south-America. It was really gorgeous! There were monkeys, birds, and CROCODILE! Oh men! I was so scared. Unfortunately, I didn’t see that gorgeous crocodile. Even though I’m scared of crocodile, I was wondered to see crocodiles. I hoped I could see crocodile when the trip home.

We were rotting in the boat. Oh my goodness, it was like HOURS in the boat, it took such a long time for the ISLAND to be appeared. And we started fed up with that stupid noise. Luckily, I brought my headset. I wore it all along the trip. It helps!
I’m so pity to hana, she sat right behind the smoke uptake. The boat was too sensitive for us to make any moves. So hana decided to stay at her position, and of course she breathes those black smokes. Poor hana…

After 2 hours trip with noisy boat, we arrived at the island. We were so glad, beside we arrived at the lovely white sand island, the boat stopped making some noise. It felt so strange at our ears. It’s like ‘ngiiiiiiiiing’ on our ears.
We stepped out of the boat, took the whole supplies, tent, and swimming tools.
We set the tent up. Tent was used as a private room to change our wet clothes after swimming.
The boat engineer said the boat couldn’t make another trip because some machines were broken. So he said he would seek for helps. We already realized that we were dumped-off in that island, but we weren’t worrying much about that because we still have foods, supplies and a lot of fun to be had.

Then we started to have fun with the island. Before that, we ate our breakfast. It was nasi pecel and nasi kuning as the main menu.
Because it was cloudy weather, some of us swum at the beach. And some other was fishing at the deeper sea.
After tired with the swimming, we decided to go around the island. We found starfish, shells, teripang, and many other cute creatures.

We were in that island for about four and a half hours. We were absolutely tired and wanted to go home. But the boat still couldn’t work. We were starving too! Supplies had already running out. We were totally realized that we were dumped-off in that island. Then we started to worry about that. Some of our parents worried about us and we didn't tell them that we were dumped-off in the middle of nowhere.

And at 4.30pm, the help came to the island. So, our boat was being pulled by the helping boat. It was really slow and absolutely took longer time than the departure trip. The engineer said it would take about 4 hours. So we would be approximately arrived at 8.30 pm.
We enjoyed the flow, and the night view from the SLOW boat. The PKT factory looked beautiful at night, and the sea looks like a tons of black ink.

I’ve said that I expected to see crocodiles at the trip home, but it was night and dark, I couldn’t see anything in the mangroves. But some of us saw the crocodiles. NOT FAIR!

Then something sparkling in the mangroves lights beyond the darkness. It was fireflies behind the mangroves. They were beautiful. They made an excellent Christmas tree in the mangrove. It was such a beautiful night.
Once we stepped on the port, IPA 3 people came to see us. Maybe it was their responsibility for offering us that boat. They brought food too. We were so glad we could come back to the land.
Then we said thank you and went home by riding our motorcycle. It was 9pm.
